The City of Quincy has several boards, commissions, and committees which are comprised of City Council members, City of Quincy staff, and individuals who deal with areas of policy making through ordinance and zoning issues, and more.

Section 32.09 of the Municipal Code of the City of Quincy of 2015 establishes Standing Committees of the City Council, and designates the number of aldermen to serve on each of the Standing Committees. Chapter 40 of the Municipal Code of the City of Quincy of 2015 provides for the creation of various Boards and Commissions, including the Plan Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals, to name just a few. Additionally, Committees may be formed to address specific programs adopted by the City, such as economic development, loan, and grant programs. Occasionally, the need arises to establish Ad Hoc committees for the short-term purpose of addressing a specific need.

Each board, commission, and committee provided for by the Municipal Code has its own page on this website where you can find additional information, such as when meetings are held, current membership, and the current meeting agenda. Links to those pages, as well as quick access to meeting schedules and agendas, can be found below. For information on currently scheduled meetings, please visit the Meeting Calendar.
