The Solid Waste Division of Central Services collects garbage from residential single-family dwellings and residential buildings having four or fewer units. Quincy residents electing to use the City of Quincy for residential garbage collection have two options to choose from for their garbage collection needs: Garbage Stickers and Garbage Totes.

Garbage Stickers are available for purchase at most grocery stores, gas stations/convenience stores, City Hall and Central Services. Residents utilizing garbage stickers for their garbage collection needs do not need to sign up for collection, but there are some guidelines that must be followed. Please visit the Garbage Collection page on this website for more information.

Garbage Totes are available for those residents that would like to participate in the City of Quincy's Garbage Tote program. Participants will pay a one-time non-refundable garbage tote drop off fee of $60.00 per tote, as well as a monthly collection fee of $12.99 per tote, both of which are billed on the participant's utility bill. Garbage totes are the property of the City of Quincy and may not be transferred to another resident. Garbage Tote service can be transferred if moving utility services to another residence; contact the Department of Utilities Billing Office at 217-228-4580 for more information prior to moving your garbage tote.

To start or stop Garbage Tote service: Contact the Department of Utilities Billing Office at 217-228-4580.

To report a missing or damaged Garbage Tote: Contact the City's Department of Centralized Services/Solid Waste Division at 217-228-4557 or email at centralservices@quincyil.gov.

Quincy residents who do not wish to utilize the City of Quincy for their Garbage collection must make arrangements with a private solid waste hauler. For a list of private solid waste haulers approved to operate within the City, please visit the Private Solid Waste Haulers page on this website.
