Hello & welcome to Quincy!
I am so glad that your journey has brought you here. Whether you are a resident of Quincy, planning a move or just visiting, I hope that you find Quincy to be an exciting and friendly city.
As a lifelong Quincy resident, it's the place where I was born, and it’s where my wife (of 40 years) and I chose to stay and raise our family of 3 boys. Choosing to come back to Quincy and make it our home wasn’t a hard choice, because this wonderful city has a lot to offer.
Quincy is a wonderful and growing city. It has over 1,000 acres of beautiful public parks, a gorgeous riverfront, a stunning historic neighborhood, a downtown featuring plenty of local restaurants, retail outlets, a Farmer’s Market, and nightlife music and events.
Our city also prides itself in our strong educational community. Quincy Public Schools recently completed 5 new elementary schools which are safe and up to date for in person learning. We have excellent private schools, and we are the home to John Wood Community College, Quincy University, and Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences. With rich backgrounds in the agriculture, manufacturing, and medical fields, our colleges provide a variety of degree and program opportunities that are targeted to help each career journey from those just starting out to those continuing their education.
We are also a medical destination center for the Tri-State area. We have been a leader in providing quality and safe health care during the pandemic and in our vaccine distribution. Blessing Hospital has recently earned back to back national safety awards of Grade A for hospital safety during the Fall of 2020 and Spring of 2021. We are proud to have the medical services of both Blessing Hospital and the Quincy Medical Group right here in Quincy.
I chose to run for Mayor of Quincy, because I love this town. I care about the people and our businesses. My goal as Mayor is to help Quincy grow and thrive, and to continue to provide a safe community for our citizens, visitors and businesses. We take pride in providing city services as efficiently as possible. My administration is committed to an open and transparent government.
I believe Quincy has a lot to offer, and that it truly lives up to its name as “The Gem City”. Whether you are a current or past Quincy resident or someone looking to visit, we hope that you find Quincy to be a safe and friendly city with many opportunities. If there is anything I can do to help you, please contact me.
Best Regards,
Mayor Mike Troup
