 Steve Peters

This year’s Firefighter of the Year is a 12 year veteran of the Fire Department.  In his time here at the Department he has been a solid contributor, but he has pretty much remained behind the scenes.  He is not a person that you will normally find in the limelight, but he is a person you will always find working when there is work to be done.

He is well respected by his peers.  This respect comes from the manner in which he conducts himself both on the job, and off.  He spends a lot of his off-duty time in service to his country through his membership in the Army Reserves.  He is one of those individuals that has stepped up to answer the call when he is needed and for that, we should all be eternally grateful.

In the past year, this individual has been recognized as a Crew Member of the Month on two different occasions.  Once for his work in advancing the use of technology within the department by helping to get our SMART Boards up and running.  The second, by working with the crew to complete the overhaul of the Fallen Firefighter Memorial at Central Fire Station.

In recognition of his continued hard work, his service to his country, and his service to the Department a panel of his peers has determined that this year’s Firefighter of the Year is Steven Peters.
