The City of Quincy would like to remind residents that the curbside recycling program will end on Friday, March 3, 2023. Current City of Quincy recycling customers can keep their orange recycling bins for personal use. If you would like to return your bin to the City, please set the empty bin at the curb during the week of March 5th and City crews will pick the bins up. Recycling bins are available for purchase for $15.00 while supplies last. Customers should note that the monthly recycling fee will no longer appear on your monthly water bill. If you have questions concerning recycling fees or would like to purchase a recycling bin, please contact the Department of Utilities at (217)228-4580 or visit us in person at 730 Maine Street.
The recycling drop-off sites located at the Harrison Hy-Vee, 1400 Harrison Street, and Refreshment Services Pepsi, 1121 Locust Street, will be open for public use beginning March 1, 2023. The third recycling site location will be announced upon finalization of the lease agreement. Residents can dispose of recyclable materials seven (7) days a week between dawn and dusk at all sites. Please refer to the attached flyer for the types of materials that can be deposited into the recycling containers. If you have questions concerning the recycling drop-off sites or recyclable materials, please contact the Department of Central Services at (217)228-4557.
The City of Quincy encourages all its residents to utilize the convenient recycling drop-off sites. Your patience during this transition time has been greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Residents who are unable to utilize the recycling drop-off sites can contact the Department of Central Services to arrange for City personnel to pickup and transport their recyclable materials. Please call 217-228-4553 for additional information.
