South 12th Street, Jefferson to State Streets, Reconstruction Project

South 12th Street, Jefferson to State Streets, will be closed beginning Tuesday, May 21, 2024 for the South 12th Street Reconstruction Project.

The South 12th Street Reconstruction Project involves a complete reconstruction of the roadway, including new pavement, curbs, water main, and sewer replacement.

During the Reconstruction Project, the intersections of South 12th and Jefferson Streets and South 12th and State Streets will remain open to traffic.

The road closure is expected to last until September 2024.

While South 12th Street will be closed to through traffic, access for residents living along the street between the construction limits will be maintained as much as possible. However, temporary restrictions or delays may occur depending on the specific construction activities taking place.

Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are advised to plan alternate routes such as South 8^th Street and South 18^th Street. The City appreciates the public's patience and understanding as we work to improve the infrastructure in this neighborhood.
