Adams Street, South 14th to South 16th, Reconstruction Project
Weather permitting, Hood Construction for the City of Quincy, will begin the street reconstruction project on Adams Street between South 14th and South 16th on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
The project scope involves completely reconstructing the roadway, including new pavement, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. To accommodate construction activities, Adams Street will be closed to traffic between South 14th Street and South 16th Street for the duration of the project.
While the street will be closed to through traffic, access for residents living along Adams Street between the construction limits will be maintained as much as possible. However, there may be temporary restrictions or delays depending on the specific construction activities taking place.
The City anticipates the project will take approximately four months to complete, with an expected reopening of Adams Street by late August 2024, weather permitting.
Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are advised to plan alternate routes and expect delays in the area during construction. The City appreciates the public's patience and understanding as we work to improve the infrastructure in this neighborhood.
